Cedar Park, Texas is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation with a rapidly growing population around 42,400, according to the United States Bureau of the Census. From a population of 5,161 in 1990, Cedar Park, Texas has exploded on the popularity scale, developing into an urban center of over 40,000 residents in a little more than 20 years
HISTORY OF CEDAR PARK, TEXAS
Like many towns and cities in Texas, Cedar Park it was originally settled in the late 1800s and owed much of its past growth to the development of the railroad. In 1881 a narrow gauge railroad running through Cedar Park, Texas to Burnet, was used to haul granite for rebuilding the state capitol and establishing Cedar Park, Texas as a permanent settlement under the name of Brueggerhoff, taking its new name from one of the railroad company officials. The community was also known as Running Brushy after a heavy-flowing spring.
The city of Cedar Park, Texas voted to incorporate in 1973. Growth has paralleled Austin's growth to the northwest along U.S. 183.
Cedar Park’s popularity as a place to live, work and raise families comes as no surprise to the citizens who helped the town grow. Located only 17 miles from the heart of downtown Austin, the State Capitol and home of The University of Texas, Cedar Park, Texas offers all the amenities of a major metropolitan area but far enough away to offer the relaxed life style that is in keeping with a family oriented community.
While Austin is known as the “Live Music Capital of the World” there is an abundance of cultural and recreational opportunities for families to enjoy. The Highland Lakes area, a system of five lakes created along the beautiful Colorado River, stretches from downtown Austin Town Lake and Auditorium Shores to Lake Buchanan some 60 miles away in Burnet, Texas.
The largest of the lakes, Lake Travis is the most popular recreational site among the lakes and can be easily accessed at numerous sites ranging from five miles to ten miles from Cedar Park, Texas. One of the advantages of living in a Cedar Park home and in central Texas is that there is just so much to do and so much to enjoy.
Springtime in the Texas Hill Country is one of the most popular seasons of the year as native Texas wildflowers turn the hillsides into virtual gardens of color. One of the more popular scenic drives, anytime of the year but especially in the spring, begins in Cedar Park, Texas and ranges in a circular drive from Cedar Park to Marble Falls on Lake LBJ to Burnet and back to CedarPark, a total driving distance of 90 miles.
HISTORY OF CEDAR PARK FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Cedar Park, Texas Fire Department was established in 1972 as a volunteer department when the population was approximately 687. In 1994, the first five career firefighters were hired and worked a 40-hour week in conjunction with the volunteers. The City of Cedar Park continued to hire full-time firefighters and a full-time paid Chief as the population increased. In 1997, the Fire Department essentially became a full-time paid department under the City organization. The fire department responds to calls in both the City and the ETJ serving a population of just over 52,500 people.

Working With An Agent >Stand By Me
Real estate transactions are complicated and unpredictable. Professional real estate agents are trained to handle the many facets of buying a home. A good agent is an invaluable asset to your venture if you are in the market for a house.
When you find a real estate agent with whom you feel confident, it is good to enter into a committed working relationship with that person. Concentrating your search with one agent will allow that agent to become truly familiar with your needs, desires, and financial capacities.
Maintaining loyalty to the real estate agent of your choice will bear you more fruit than scattering your attention among several agents. An agent who feels your commitment will devote his or her entire energy to finding the right home for you.
